Beauty

Hi gals! Today’s post as been a loooooong time coming. Every time I try to start this, I always change my mind and discuss something else! However, the wait is no longer.. we are all about beauty today. When it comes to make-up, I am pretty basic. I never {nor have the skills} to get all fancied up. I would LOVE to step-up my make-up skills game! Maybe that is an item for the 2018 bucket list? I think so.

Let’s start at the beginning.. I never wore make-up until 8th grade. In 8th grade, I wore mascara and thought it was the best thing in the world {still think this! lol}.

The first product I purchased was the bareMinerals Starter Kit. We were at Disney World and my older cousin showed me all of her bare mineral products.. I was hooked. Right when we got back, I headed to Ulta and my love of make-up started. bareMinerals has grown such a long way since my first purchase. I do not use as many of their products anymore, but I still the BarePro products.

Side note.. I always get asked, Sephora or Ulta.

Sephora offers a lot of different brands, in store and online. Ulta is starting to offer more and more higher end brands in store and online too now. Personally, I enjoy Sephora more. The Ulta rewards are money off your purchase. However, they do expire so unless you purchase make-up a lot, you probably will not get a ton of money off your purchase at one time.

The Sephora “Beauty Insider” rewards are points for product and never expire, which is why I like them best. Here is the best part.. the point range is 100 – 50,000!!

The 100-250 point products are mostly sample sizes of different items they carry. For 500 points, it is normally a set of products.. skincare set, haircare, etc. 750-2500 are full size products, normally a palette. 5000-50,000 are workshops and classes that you can take all around the world. Travel is not included, but hey.. that would be pretty freaking fabulous! If you shop at Sephora and gain points, only and I repeat ONLY trade in your points at the beginning of the month. They release the new products for Beauty Insiders at the beginning of each month, so make sure to grab the good ones before they sell out. Currently, I am a VIB, which allows me more rewards and just means I spend more money there. 🙂

Do I shop at Ulta still? Yes, sometimes. However, I would rather focus on one shop and build up my rewards in one place, rather than dabble in two.

Last side note… no matter where you purchase your items, take advantage of the employees working and have them colour match your skin when getting a new product. It is super helpful and saves you a return trip because you picked a shade too dark or light.

  bareMinerals BarePro- $30

Beauty

Before I started using BarePro, I used the regular mineral foundation. Did it work? Yes. Does BarePro work better? Yes. I first put on my fountain and blend. After, I add my contour and then finish with my BarePro.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation- $28

Beauty

Before I started using Clinique, I used the BarePro liquid foundation. I did not love it, so I found myself not using it. I did some research and came across this one! When I first purchased this, I was applying it with a oval brush, which I ADORED! I purchased my oval brush from TJ Maxx and sadly, when I was cleaning it one day.. it snapped right in half. I am still looking for a great brand of oval brushes that does not cost a crap ton. Even though I have really enjoyed this product, I just received a  ‘Make Up For Ever’ foundation sample so I am really excited to try that!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed – $34

Beauty

Anastasia Beverly Hills- $40

Beauty

BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette- $46

Beauty

These are the three face palettes that I use! The top is a bronzer, middle is my favorite contour kit ever, and the third is a blush, bronzer, and highlighter. I love all of these products, but the contour kit is my favorite. The colours are spot on and blend nicely.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eyeshadow – $54 $28

Beauty

Benefit Mascara – $24 // Kat Von D Eyeliner – $20 // Marc Jacobs Mascara – $26

Beauty

To start, this eyeliner is amazing. It is smooth and I have not found anything better. Perfection! I use my Marc Jacobs mascara {one of the products from my points!} and the Benefit mascara. I will sometimes use other brands if I find a new one at the store. I like trying out different brands to find the best! For my eyeshadow palette, I have been using this Urban Decay smokey palette. I purchased this during the 21 days of beauty at Ulta but I found it for an even lower price at Nordstrom Rack! Find that link here! Besides this palette, I also have a Mac Cosmetics eyeshadow palette. I have been using that one for a couple of years, so no one wants to see how that looks now. lol

Mario Badescu Facial Spray – $7 // GlamGlow DreamDuo – $59 // Laneige Water Sleeping Mask- $25 // Sugar Advanced Therapy- $26

Beauty

Finally, we are on to our skincare. I use more than these products aka my face wash, but these are my top favorites. Everyone should own this facial spray, it is only $7 and helps keep your make-up on all day long. I can totally tell a difference from when I wear it and when I forget :)! A couple of months ago, I received a GlamGlow sample pack from Sephora and the DreamDuo was one in there! I am not 100% sure what it actually is supposed to do, but it smells amazing and feels good.

I do not think I will repurchase this mask because of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask I received from Influenster! You use this 2-3x a week before you go to bed and wash it off in the morning. I was a little worried on how it would feel, but it is very light. You can barely notice it! I have never heard of Laneige before, and will be checking out more of their products! Lastly, this Fresh Sugar advanced therapy is so important for the upcoming winter months! I put this lipstick on before bed and when I wake up. It has really helped!

When shopping for your make-up, do not be discouraged by the price. Some products are more expensive but they can last you 3-6 months depending on the product and how much you use it!

What is your favorite beauty product?! Let me know in the comments below!
