Good Morning! This has been a crazy week! We put our house up for sale on Sunday and it has been madness since. We have had showing after showing, which is great, but… it is making me so sad. I am sad I do not know who is going to buy our house. Will they give it the same love we have for the past 15 years? I hope so. I pray for the new family so that they can feel the love of this house. The place where I have grown into the person I am today. The place I said I didn’t like for years because I missed our old red house with the treehouse. The place I began to love and appreciate. The place I can just relax. The place I can call home.
Each time I begin to feel sad, I just think.. You can take away the house, but you cannot take away the memories. Removing our chandelier from the dining room so it wouldn’t get in the way of playing ‘living room volleyball’. The first time Jack met my family on Halloween. Playing with my two nephews. Carving pumpkins in the kitchen. Baking cookies at Christmas. I just need to remember.. I can leave the house, but hold the memories of our home.
As sad as I am about leaving our home, I am so looking forward to our new home. Picking out each detail, literally you have to decide on every.single.item. It is so exciting! I know once we are in our new home, it will be so wonderful.
This year is all about cultivating joy, and after reading Grace, Not Perfection by Emily Ley… friends, we can all do it. I could have totes highlighted the entire book. Every chapter I felt more and more understood by her. She feels the same worries, goes through the same struggles. And she talks about getting through life all by giving yourself Grace through the mess with Jesus leading the way. This needs to be on your reading list, and I can promise you that you won’t regret it.
Next on my list is Rich and Pretty by Rumaan Alam, I found it on Goodreads.com! I just ordered it on Amazon, which is a total first for me since I normally buy my books at Target or Barnes and Noble. Everyone is a fan of Amazon, but I am still not convinced. I cannot wait to let you know how it is!
See you back on Monday!!
